1. First to launch NeroVision Express 3: Click Start, All Programs, Nero, Nero Digital, NeroVision Express.
   This brings up the NeroVision Express 3 Main Window. Click Make DVD, DVD-Video, see Figure 1.

   note:

   VCD, SVCD or minDVD format could be used as well.

2. This brings up the 'Content' window. From here add Video Files, or Capture video directly. Click Add Video Files.
3. This brings up the 'Open Video' window. Use this window to select the Video files for this project. The Video files must be in a supported format such as AVI, MPEG, MPG, MPE, DV, VOB, and DAT. Highlight the file and click Open, see Figure 2.
4. Click on the thumbnail in the window to highlight it. Click Edit Movie see Figure 3.

5. To Split a Video file, use the preview window to locate where exactly in the video the split should be made, and then click the Split Item icon to make the split, see Figure 4.

6. To 'cut out' a section of the video, click the Cut Mode icon, see Figure 4.
7. Clicking on the scissor icon, a message box will come up with information on the steps needed to take to accomplish the cut, see Figure 5.
8. Clicking OK, the Icons change to scissors in the left hand side of the window. Use these scissors to mark where the cut in the video should be from start to finish, see Figure 5.
9. Click the Scissors icon again for the marked area to be cut takes affect.
10. Clicking on the scissors icon again, a message window will come up asking you to make sure of the cut range. Click Yes to make the change occur, see Figure 6.
11. The timeline then shows to video clips where previously there was one. And again, the video portion can be deleted by right-clicking on it from within the timeline and selecting delete.

    note:

    If a mistake is made in the selection of the Split or Cut, go back to the preview window and move the icon back to recover the section of the video split or cut. This is possible because NeroVision Express does not modify the original video file in any way during any of this process.

12. Once all the adjustments have been made, click either Export to save the movie in AVI, MPEG, DVD, etc format. Or click Next and continue by adding Menu's, Chapters, etc and burn the compilation to a DVD, VCD, SVCD, or miniDVD.
