How To Get Elven Armor In Skyrim
Elven Gilded Armor
- Nov 27, 2011 - Elven armor is the lightest armor I'm aware of. 4 piece is 7 units of weight. 5 piece is 11 units of weight. With this low weight, you can easily skip.
- Jan 22, 2015 - Elven armor is a light armor which can be upgraded with Refined Moonstone once the Dragonborn obtains the Elven Smithing perk.

Elven Gilded Armor is a piece of light armor and part of the Elven Armor set found in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
It is identical in appearance to Elven Armor, but possesses a higher armor rating. As of patch 1.9, wearing this armor will count towards the 'Matching Set' perk achieved at level 70 in the Light Armor skill tree.
LocationsEdit
Unenchanted armor will begin to appear throughout Skyrim at level 23 and enchanted variants can be found at level 28. These locations include:
- Blacksmiths and General Goods Merchants.
- Found as random loot in chests or as a world item.
- Worn by randomly encountered Thalmor patrol guards.
- Sometimes worn by random encountered thieves after level 27.
Fixed locationsEdit

- Worn by several Thalmor Warriors and archers in Northwatch Keep after level 27.
SmithingEdit
Crafting a set of Elven Gilded Armor requires a Smithing level of 30 and the Elven Smithing perk. It can be forged at a blacksmith's forge with the following components:
- 3 x Leather Strips
- 4 x Refined Moonstones
- 1 x Iron Ingot
- 1 x Quicksilver Ingot
It can be upgraded with a Quicksilver Ingot at a workbench and also benefits from the Elven Smithing perk, which doubles the improvement.
AppearancesEdit
HiI've already replaced the basic leather armor with another one and it works.
Now i want to relpace the vanilla elven armor with another one.
Buy Elven Armor
I know the trick: use BSA browser to browse the meshes, than locate the elven armor files' names, and replace my new armor's nif files with the vanilla name files.
However this doesn't work - all the elven armor composants are all vanillas.
The only file i cannot replace is the shield one because i have no shield NIF file. My question is thus:
To replace a vnailla armor, do I need to replace EVERY vanilla nif files or else it won't work at all? Can't i just replace the boots and the bracers if i wanted to ? (which isnt the case)
